Belt Conveyor Concrete Batching Plants

May 26, 2025

Belt conveyor concrete batching plant is a concrete production equipment with belt conveyor as the main aggregate conveying device. It realizes efficient transmission of aggregates through continuous operation of the belt and is suitable for large-scale and continuous concrete production scenarios. The concrete batching plant uses belt conveyor as the main conveying equipment for aggregates (sand, stone, etc.). The aggregates weighed by the batching system are conveyed to the mixing host through the belt, and the concrete mixing production is completed with raw materials such as cement, water, and admixtures. Compared with other conveying methods such as bucket elevators, belt conveyors are more suitable for large-volume, long-distance, and continuous conveying scenarios.

Core structure composition of belt conveyor concrete batching plant:

1. Aggregate feeding system

– It includes multiple aggregate storage bins (sand, gravel, etc.), and a batching scale (such as an electronic scale) is installed under each bin to accurately weigh aggregates according to the ratio.

– A feeder (such as a vibrating feeder) is configured at the bottom of the bin to control the uniform feeding of aggregates to the belt conveyor.

2. Belt conveyor system

– Main structure: It is composed of driving roller, redirecting roller, roller, conveyor belt (wear-resistant rubber belt), tensioning device, etc. It can be conveyed horizontally or tilted (the tilt angle is usually ≤17° to prevent aggregate from sliding).

– Function: Continuously convey the weighed aggregate to the hopper above the mixing host. The conveying process is stable and large in quantity, which is suitable for high production needs.

3. Mixing host

– Mostly use forced concrete mixers (such as twin-shaft concrete mixers), which have high mixing efficiency and can adapt to various types of concrete (plastic, dry hard, high-performance concrete, etc.).

– The capacity of the host varies according to the output, and common models are 1.5m³, 2m³, 3m³, etc.

4. Powder conveying and batching system

– Powders such as cement and fly ash are conveyed from the powder tank to the powder scale by a screw conveyor (or pneumatic conveying), and are accurately weighed and sent to the mixing host.

– Water and admixtures are metered by water pumps and metering pumps and then injected into the host.

5. Control system

– PLC automatic control system is adopted to realize the full process automation operation such as ratio setting, batching metering, conveying and mixing, data recording, etc. Some high-end models support cloud monitoring and remote debugging.

6. Auxiliary system

– Dust removal system (bag dust collector): reduce dust pollution during aggregate conveying and feeding;

– Water washing system: used to clean the main machine and belt, environmental protection and energy saving;

– Safety protection device: such as belt deviation alarm, overload protection, etc.

Belt conveyor type concrete batching plant belongs to “large fixed concrete mixing plant”, and the output is usually measured in concrete output per hour (m³/h), depending on the model and configuration:

– Common models and output:

– HZS60: 60m³/h (suitable for small and medium-sized projects);

– HZS90: 90m³/h;

– HZS120: 120m³/h (mainstream model, corresponding to 2m³ host);

– HZS180: 180m³/h (3m³ host, commonly used in large projects);

– Higher-end models (such as HZS240) can reach 240m³/h, which requires a higher power host and multiple belt conveyors.

– Influencing factors: batching speed, mixing time, belt conveying efficiency, control system response speed, etc., the output is more stable during continuous production.

Core advantages of belt conveyor concrete batching plants:

1. High conveying efficiency and large output

– The belt conveyor has a large conveying capacity (up to hundreds of tons/hour) and operates continuously without interruption. It is suitable for scenes that require high frequency and large amounts of concrete. It is more suitable for long-distance and large-load conveying than bucket elevators.

2. Stable operation and low energy consumption

– The belt conveying process is smooth, without violent impact, the motor power requirement is relatively low, and the energy consumption is more economical than screw conveying or bucket elevators; the maintenance cost is also low (the belt is easy to replace, and the price of wearing parts such as rollers is low).

3. Accurate batching and strong adaptability

– With high-precision electronic scales and automatic control systems, the aggregate batching error can be controlled within ±2%, which is suitable for the production of high-performance concrete; the proportion can be flexibly adjusted to meet the needs of different projects (such as C30-C60 concrete).

4. Good environmental protection

– The belt conveyor can be equipped with a closed cover to reduce the flying of dust during aggregate transportation; with a dust removal system, it meets environmental protection requirements and is suitable for construction in cities or environmentally sensitive areas.

5. High degree of automation

– Full process automation control, reducing manual intervention, production data can be recorded and traced in real time, and management efficiency can be improved.

Application scenarios of belt conveyor concrete batch plants:

1. Large-scale construction projects

– High-rise buildings, bridges, tunnels, water conservancy projects (such as dams, reservoirs), subways, etc., which require a large amount of concrete and continuous construction.

2. Concrete prefabrication plant

– The production of prefabricated components (such as pipe piles, box beams, and floor slabs) requires stable concrete quality and high output. Belt-type mixing plants can meet the needs of large-scale production.

3. Fixed commercial concrete mixing station

– Commercial concrete mixing station (commercial concrete mixing station) needs to supply concrete to multiple construction sites. High output and stability are the core requirements.

4. Industrial and infrastructure construction

– Airport runways, port terminals, large factory floors, etc., which require high concrete strength and uniformity.

Belt conveyor concrete batching plants are characterized by “large output, high stability, and low energy consumption”. They achieve efficient aggregate transmission through belt conveyor systems and are the mainstream choice for large-scale projects and commercial concrete mixing plants. Their structural design is optimized around “continuous production” and is suitable for scenarios that require long-term, large-scale concrete supply. They also have significant advantages in environmental protection and automation.
