How Much Does It Cost to Build a Concrete Plant?

November 3, 2026

The total investment cost required to build a concrete batching plant typically ranges from USD 60,000 to over USD 600,000. For small-scale, in-house project plants (such as the HZS25 or HZS35 models), budgets can start at around USD 60,000. A fully equipped HZS60 commercial concrete plant generally requires an investment of USD 150,000–300,000. Large-scale commercial concrete plants—such as the HZS120 and above—can reach USD 400,000–800,000 when accounting for transport vehicles, environmental protection systems and site construction.

Before making a purchase, it is important to note that the equipment price is only one part of the total investment. To get a concrete batching plant fully operational, you must also factor in costs for foundations, cement silos, wheel loaders, transport vehicles, ocean freight, installation, and environmental protection systems.

Taking the HZS60 concrete batching plant as an example: the JS1000 twin-shaft mixer produces approximately 1 m³ of concrete per batch. The main unit typically features a power rating of 2 × 18.5 kW and is suitable for producing standard concrete ranging from grade C25 to C50. The maximum aggregate particle size can be designed for either 60 mm or 80 mm.

Beyond the equipment itself, what other costs should be anticipated?

1. Foundation and Site Construction: USD 15,000–80,000

An HZS60 plant generally requires a site area of approximately 1,500–3,000 m². Foundation costs cover site leveling, excavation, reinforced concrete foundations, drainage ditches, and aggregate storage areas.

In our experience at project sites across Africa and Southeast Asia, clients often underestimate the importance of drainage systems. Water accumulation during the rainy season can cause rapid fluctuations in the moisture content of aggregates, which directly affects concrete slump and mix proportions. The site budget should account for drainage slopes, settling tanks, and the paving/hardening of aggregate storage areas.

2. Silos, Loaders, and Vehicles: Starting from USD 40,000

A 100-ton cement silo typically costs between USD 8,000 and USD 15,000 per unit. For commercial ready-mix concrete production, we recommend installing at least two silos: one for cement and another for fly ash or ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS).

A 3–5 ton wheel loader generally costs between USD 25,000 and USD 60,000, while a 6–10 m³ concrete mixer truck typically ranges from USD 55,000 to USD 120,000 per unit. For projects involving external supply, transport vehicles often represent a significant portion of the budget.

3. Ocean Freight and Installation: USD 15,000 – 60,000

An HZS60 concrete plant typically requires 2–3 40HQ (high-cube) containers, while an HZS120 concrete batching plant usually requires 4–6 40HQ containers. Depending on the destination port, you should budget USD 8,000–35,000 for ocean freight, port charges, and inland transportation.

Haomei Machinery once exported an HZS90 concrete batching plant to a client in the Middle East. Due to the narrow, elongated shape of the site, we customized the layout—positioning the silos to the side and using an angled (zigzag) aggregate conveyor system—to minimize the footprint. We also configured the equipment to fit into four 40HQ containers, facilitating efficient unloading at the destination port and on-site hoisting.

How do you choose the right model?

For a daily output of 100–200 m³: Consider an HZS35 or HZS50 model, which are well-suited for small-scale road construction, precast concrete production, or internal (self-use) projects.

For a daily output of 300–500 m³: The HZS60 or HZS75 models are ideal, offering an optimal balance between investment cost and production capacity.

For a daily output of 500–800 m³: The HZS90 or HZS120 models are recommended; these are well-suited for commercial ready-mix concrete sales and supplying multiple construction sites simultaneously.

For a daily output of over 1,000 m³: Consider the HZS180 model, or alternatively, a dual-unit HZS120 setup; the latter helps mitigate the risk of total production stoppage due to a single-point equipment failure.

In markets requiring a wider range of aggregate gradations, a 4-bin PLD batching machine is recommended. Aggregate weighing accuracy is typically maintained within ±2%, while the use of independent electronic scales for cement, water, and admixtures ensures a weighing precision of ±1%—a critical factor for the consistent production of high-grade concrete.
